"Oops, I arted."

1. Creative Arts Building (The Cab)

I'm an Art major and this building is by far my favorite. Even if you have nothing to do with art or music I would visit the building to look at the Gallery or if you want to play in one of the many guest rooms where you can find a piano. Yes, a full-sized piano from a full grand to an electronic keyboard all with crisp clean sounds.  I myself visit the piano room a lot to practice just because I don't have my own piano and the sound is so rich and beautiful it breaks my heart every time. You can find these piano rooms fairly easy enter the building make a right and the signs will show you the way.

Besides these awesome piano rooms they have lounges where sound is not limited! I have seen actors play out scenes in the middle of the floor, people play videos, sing, conversate, it's one of the most laid back buildings in my opinion and because of that the most fun. It's also gorgeous not only architecturally but all the art hanging in the halls from classes and layout and design. The room my art class is held in always makes my heart skip a beat because it's like an art studio from a movie with easels and supplies all around. Sigh, oh Creative Arts Building, you are so cool.

My Favorite Place: Fisher Part 1 and 2

2. Fisher University Union

In Fisher University Union you can find student centers such as the Centro Hispanic, the Upperman Center, and to me the most important the LGBTQIA center. Centro Hispanic and the African American Center are located on the second floor along with some offices and the Ann Flack Boseman Gallery is only down the hall featuring something cool or working on something beautiful to present to the UNCW students.

The LGBTQIA is in it's own little niche on the first floor hidden off in a corner from the Hawk's Nest where you can find more food. Everyone in the LGBT center is very nice and friendly, and you can check out books or movies. This has put it as number 2 on TK's list of importance.

3. Herbert and Sylvia Fisher Student Union

Ah, Herbert and Sylvia Fisher Student Center. Where my Starbucks comes from. This building architecturally aesthetic is the home to Subway and Einstein Bros Bagels. My favorite location in this part of the building is found in a niche of the second floor. Endearingly called the Nerd Corner it can be found outside the second floor bookstore exit/entrance. This lounge-like area includes comfortable seating arrangements, ample table space, and various outlets so no one goes without a charge! You can also find there a group of gamers hence it's christening, The Nerd Corner.

This lounge area is comfortable like many others others in this building, but because it is next to the bookstore it does require a bit of quiet and this has put it as number 3 on TK's list of important places of UNCW.

"There's this couch, right? And it feels like God's nipples."

4. King Hall

King Hall is home to film and although I am not interested in Film, I am interested in their couch. I use this area to lounge as I have seen film students do as well. This place requires a decent amount of quiet because classes do go on actually right next to this 'lounge' but it is comfortable and quiet more so than the library. Now although you are limited to quiet the classes are not and you will hear some weird sounds from films or whatever those mysterious film students do in there. Upstairs is nothing but offices and the building has to be the most plain architecturally but inside I find the movie posters and abundance of seats makes it cool.

"Dude, I need help. Like bad."

5. DePaolo Learning Center

No idea how to write or format your paper? The DePaolo Learning Center knows what to do and with an appointment easily made online you can come in and fix the problem or get help. I, myself have used this source and it was a great help, they're really nice and most of the 'helpers' are English majors. So this is what they want to do, coming on time to appointments is crucial because they start on the hour and you want all the time you can get but it's definitely a big help.

DePaolo Hall is right across from the Herbert and Sylvia Fisher Student Center and next to King Hall. I urge you if you're taking an English to visit the center and they have handily in the front room as the first picture shows computers and an iPrint.

"Who the hell is TK?"

Hello internet! Who is Tk, you ask? I am TK, the words that are typed here are TK. You are reading the content that makes TK. In this case this blog is exploring the campus of UNCW. What's UNCW, you ask? UNCW is based in Wilmington NC, any guesses, no? University of North Carolina of Wilmington, sound familiar? A little bit, well this beautiful place is my home or source of education and I'm going to tell you about all the great little spots that you'll find encased in this government-owned premise.
